Baseball Recap: Vacaville Christian Wins Going Away Against Lindhurst

Vacaville Christian won the last time they faced Lindhurst and things went their way on Thursday too. Vacaville Christian was the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over Lindhurst. Considering the Falcons have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Evan Varty and Dylan Eddings made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Varty tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Eddings tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. At bat, Varty scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Eddings scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was Eddings' first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zachary Romeo, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Vacaville Christian is undefeated when Romeo posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Devon Parrish also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Vacaville Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Vacaville Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lindhurst, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vacaville Christian will challenge San Juan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vacaville Christian is facing San Juan at the right time seeing as San Juan is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Lindhurst, they will take on Marysville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Marysville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something Lindhurst will no doubt try to take advantage of.
