Osage City has gone 9-1 against Council Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Indians will head out to square off against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Osage City 11.8, Council Grove 10) so any points scored will be well earned.
Osage City's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past West Franklin 74-0. Fans of the Indians have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Kasen Parsons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 184 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 49 yards and one score. What's more, he racked up 165.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Quenten Stark was another key player, picking up 88 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Osage City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Council Grove is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Riley County on Friday, but Riley County came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Falcons 28-26.
Osage City better keep an eye on Reid Buttrey. He was instrumental in Council Grove's win, rushing for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 76 yards and two TDs. Buttrey didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Osage City's record now sits at 4-0. As for Council Grove, their record is now an identical 4-0.
Osage City didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Council Grove in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 26-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
