The Concord Bears will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Mt. Diablo Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Concord focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
Last Monday, Concord slipped by Alhambra 40-39. The win was just what Concord needed coming off of a 56-27 loss in their prior match.
Concord can attribute much of their success to A'mariah Iglesias, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Lamiyah Washington, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Washington has scored at least a third of Concord's points.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Mt. Diablo's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Miramonte.
Concord's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4.
Concord took a serious blow against Mt. Diablo in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 47-19. Can Concord avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
