We expected Springfield to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Minneota on Friday, and they did. Springfield have to be aching after a bruising 16-47 defeat to Minneota. If Springfield were expecting to get some payback for the 7-64 loss against Minneota the last time they met, then they were left disappointed.
The loss dropped Springfield back to even at 3-3. Minneota added further sheen to their flawless record, now 6-0.
Next week Springfield take on Sleepy Eye at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. As for Minneota, they will face off against Lakeview. Lakeview are limping into the match on a five-game losing streak.
