It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Portsmouth Trojans ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 72-66 victory over Rock Hill. Given Portsmouth's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Rock Hill is ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Deandre Berry, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Donnovan Breech, who scored 13 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Portsmouth and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Rock Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Gallia Academy the next time they take the court. Rock Hill will host Gallia Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Portsmouth will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
