The Willits Wolverines lost against the Clear Lake Cardinals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Willits fell 54-47 to Clear Lake. Willits has not had much luck with Clear Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Willits saw an underclassman step up: Cecily Potter scored 14 points. Potter scored a full 29.8% of Willits' points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazel Cooke, who scored nine points.
Willits' loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Clear Lake, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Willits will head out on the road to face off against Fort Bragg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Lake will be home for the holidays to greet St. Helena at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
