For the first time this season, Stanton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
If Stanton beats Wolfson with 17 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Blue Devils never let Riverside get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have beaten the Generals the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Generals has come to flipping the script.
Stanton got a great performance from Jayden Justo as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Hayden Foster was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Yandi Torres also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Stanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Wolfson didn't have quite enough to beat First Coast on Thursday and fell 13-12. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Paxton Frederick made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Cam Wiggins was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Stanton's record now sits at 9-2. As for Wolfson, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Stanton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wolfson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Stanton might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Wolfson when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
