The McAllen Bulldogs were the 62-53 winner over the Southwest Legacy Titans when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. McAllen fell to Southwest Legacy 59-55. McAllen just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Giovanni Aranda was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals for Southwest Legacy. The game was Aranda's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Cavazos, who scored 11 points.
McAllen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Southwest Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McAllen will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McAllen Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. McAllen Memorial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McAllen in Texas (McAllen Memorial is ranked 149th, while McAllen is ranked 425th). As for Southwest Legacy, they will head out on the road to face off against New Braunfels at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Braunfels is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
