Softball Recap: Tahlequah Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Tahlequah got themselves on the board against Shawnee on Monday, but Shawnee never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Zoie Griffin, who gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks to keep Shawnee off the board. Griffin has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Dotson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Lilly Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Tahlequah is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Shawnee, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Tahlequah has already played their next match, an 11-10 victory against Owasso on the 9th. As for Shawnee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-2 defeat against Coweta on the 9th.
