In what's become a running theme this season, the Heritage Patriots gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 76-18 win over JW North. Given Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while JW North is ranked 894th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Sierra Maxwell, who scored 39 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Heritage's points. Another player making a difference was Mariah Logan, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Heritage, bringing their record for this year to 16-9. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.33 points. As for JW North, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
Heritage will look to defend their home court on Friday against Moreno Valley at 6:45 p.m. Moreno Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge. As for JW North, they will head out on the road to square off against Temescal Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
