The York Suburban Trojans entered their tilt with the Northeastern Bobcats with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. York Suburban snuck past Northeastern with a 62-57 victory on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Northeastern's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colleen Finnegan, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Nylah Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and six steals.
York Suburban pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northeastern, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-1.
York Suburban will play host again and welcome Eastern York, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully York Suburban is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern York in Pennsylvania (York Suburban is ranked 31st, while Eastern York is ranked 264th). As for Northeastern, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dover at 11:30 a.m. on January 27th. Northeastern is facing Dover at the right time seeing as Dover is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
