The International Falls Broncos pushed their score all the way to 34 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 58-34 loss at the hands of Mesabi East. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for International Falls in their matchups with Mesabi East: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, International Falls still got an impressive performance from Cooper Crandall, who rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Swenson, who threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
International Falls' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mesabi East, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
International Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mesabi East will head out on the road to face off against Moose Lake/Willow River at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Moose Lake/Willow River is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
