Baseball Recap: Foothill Wins Going Away Against Etna

It was a proper cat-fight when Foothill challenged Etna on Wednesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bill Duchi was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Johnny Morales, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Etna only posted a batting average of .111.

The win made it two in a row for Foothill and bumps their season record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Etna, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coming up, Foothill will take on Pleasant Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Etna, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Enterprise on the 8th.
