The Santa Barbara Dons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 53-33 defeat to Ventura might stick with them for a while. Santa Barbara has not had much luck with Ventura recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ventura to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skyler Knight, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Kailee Staniland was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five steals.
Santa Barbara's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Ventura, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-3.
Santa Barbara will be playing in front of their home fans against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Marcos presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Barbara in California (San Marcos is ranked 231st, while Santa Barbara is ranked 629th). As for Ventura, they will head out on the road to square off against Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
