If the Wise Pumas were riding high off their 71-43 takedown of the Suitland Rams on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wise was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 53-52 to St. Mary's Ryken.
When it comes to explaining why Wise lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cayden Hargrove. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Rasan Golatt was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Wise's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wise will be home for the holidays to greet Laurel at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's Ryken will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop McNamara at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
