This season hasn't been kind to the Sharpsville Blue Devils, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a serious blow against Wilmington on Thursday, falling 66-27. While losing is never fun, Sharpsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 519th, while Wilmington is ranked 216th).
Despite the loss, Sharpsville still got an impressive performance from Lily Palko , who scored nine points. Palko scored a full 33.3% of Sharpsville's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Macie Steiner, who scored six points.
Sharpsville bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wilmington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Sharpsville will be home for the holidays to greet Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wilmington, they will head out on the road to face off against Oil City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
