Norwalk is a perfect 7-0 against Dominguez since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Dons at 3:15 p.m. The last three games Norwalk has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Norwalk took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Maywood CES 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jesus Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Corey Brammer was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Daniel Albidrez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Norwalk hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maywood CES struck out six times.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Dominguez made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lennox Academy on Saturday. The Dons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-3 win.
Jesus Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Dominguez got a massive performance out of Daveon Brim, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Brim has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Suarez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Norwalk's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Dominguez, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Norwalk was able to grind out a solid victory over Dominguez when the teams last played back in March, winning 9-4. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
