Saugus hasn't had much luck against Hart recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Saugus will host Hart at 3:30 p.m. Saugus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Saugus turned things around against Sylmar on Saturday. They skirted past the Spartans 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Centurions have posted since March 1st.
Ming Lee looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Saugus' victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Justin Barrett, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave Barrett a new career-high.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hart). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Golden Valley a 22-0 shutout on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three matches in a row.
Tristan Purfoy looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Hart is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Michael Hogen was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Hart's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Anthony Cavarretta, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Hart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Hart, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Saugus was able to grind out a solid victory over Hart in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 5-1. Will Saugus repeat their success, or does Hart has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
