Redwood is 8-2 against the Trailblazers since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Redwood Rangers will look to defend their home court against the Golden West Trailblazers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Redwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-25 defeat at the hands of Monache. Redwood has struggled against the Marauders recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Golden West struggled with assists on Friday (the Panthers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Golden West took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Golden West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 844th, while the Panthers are ranked 364th).
Golden West's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aniyah Venegas, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, and Danae Banuelos who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Redwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. As for Golden West, they dropped their record down to 9-18 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Redwood took their win against the Trailblazers in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 58-34. Will Redwood repeat their success, or do the Trailblazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
