Jefferson County hasn't had much luck against Bleckley County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jefferson County Warriors will face off against the Bleckley County Royals at 5:45 p.m. Bleckley County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson County, who comes in off a win.
Jefferson County will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Glascock County on Thursday. Jefferson County came out on top against Glascock County by a score of 12-9. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jayden Duncan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jefferson County is 2-1 when Duncan posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Tungate, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Marcus Scott also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Jefferson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bleckley County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Wilcox County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Royals have suffered since February 10th.
Bleckley County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Jefferson County, their record now sits at 4-8.
Jefferson County suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Bleckley County when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Jefferson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
