Madera South has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Fresno Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madera South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 806th, while Fresno is ranked 303rd).
On Tuesday, Madera South strolled past McLane with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. The victory was just what Madera South needed coming off of a 70-36 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of MAYRILIN VASQUEZ, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Fresno came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 33-24 victory over Sanger West.
Madera South's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Fresno, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
Madera South came up short against Fresno when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 45-33. Can Madera South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
