The Cromwell/Floodwood will head out on the road to face off against the Ogilvie Lions at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cromwell/Floodwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Ogilvie likes a good challenge.
Cromwell/Floodwood stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 44-14 win over Bertha-Hewitt at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-2.
Cromwell/Floodwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Nyberg, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 94 yards and a touchdown. Brady Dahl also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Ogilvie owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Laporte out 2-0. Given Ogilvie's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Laporte is ranked 57th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cromwell/Floodwood's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.33 points. As for Ogilvie, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Cromwell/Floodwood suffered a grim 42-21 defeat to Ogilvie when the teams last played back in August. Can Cromwell/Floodwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
