Buchholz has gone 8-2 against Forest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bobcats will head out to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Buchholz's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Forest's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Buchholz managed to slip by Lincoln the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bobcats lost 10-4 to the Trojans on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bobcats, who until this match were averaging 2.68 runs allowed.

Buchholz got a good showing from Dion Wilburn, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Wilburn has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Buchholz saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Kastensmidt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Kai So was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Forest waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Knights 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Knights since April 8, 2022.
Noah Schoncheck made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Schoncheck was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Cash Liles was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Having lost for the first time this season, Buchholz fell to 21-1. As for Forest, their record now sits at 13-10.
Everything went Buchholz's way against Forest in their previous meeting back in March, as Buchholz made off with a 13-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
