This season hasn't been kind to the Academia Avance Guerreros Jaguares, who are still winless after their fifth game. They fell 40-29 to CALS Early College on Thursday. Academia Avance was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as CALS Early College apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Leslie Velasquez and Kylie Aguilar certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Velasquez scored 16 points, while Aguilar scored 10 points. Velasquez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Academia Avance's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for CALS Early College, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Academia Avance will head out on the road to face off against University Prep Value at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. CALS Early College won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Community Charter at 2:00 p.m. on December 8th. Community Charter's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so CALS Early College's offense will have their work cut out for CALS Early College.
