Baseball Game Preview: Central Gwinnett Black Knights vs. Dacula Falcons

For the second straight game, Central Gwinnett will face off against Dacula. The Black Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Gwinnett has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Central Gwinnett lost 21-3 to Dacula on Tuesday. The Black Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Dacula's part, Grant Dzikowski was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dzikowski was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

In other pitching news, Cody Bullard looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Dacula let Logan Peralta and Reiston Durham run wild. Peralta went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Durham scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Durham is becoming a predictor of Dacula's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-3 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Donovan Quary, Jr. ?DJ?, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Dacula always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Dacula has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Central Gwinnett, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
