The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Capistrano Valley in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now lost six in a row.
Kayla Rice continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dana Hills, almost dropping a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. Rice hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Akason, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
Capistrano Valley's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.5 points per game. As for Dana Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
