Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Olympian's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

While Olympian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Chula Vista Spartans by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Luke Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sebastian Diaz was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Olympian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. As for Chula Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympian will face off against Campbell Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chula Vista, they will challenge Bishop's at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
