Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2020-21 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.
Kamorea Arnold of
Germantown is the 2020-21 MaxPreps Wisconsin High School Basketball Player of the Year. The 5-foot-9 sophomore guard led the Warhawks to a 29-1 record and the Division 1 state championship.
Arnold averaged 22.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.8 steals a game. She scored 31 points on 12 of 18 shooting in a 63-48 win over Hudson in the Division 1 title game and also had seven assists.
Arnold is regarded as the No. 5 prospect in the Class of 2023 according to ESPN Hoopgurlz Class of 2023.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
