Gabrielino is 8-2 against Marshall since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Gabrielino Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Marshall Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on December 13th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, Gabrielino was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-40 to Cabrillo. While losing is never fun, Gabrielino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Cabrillo is ranked 150th).
Gabrielino's loss came about despite a quality game from Mia Lim, who scored 18 points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for Lim. Another player making a difference was Paris Ngeam, who scored six points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Marshall, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-38 loss to Pioneer on Saturday.
Gabrielino's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Gabrielino was able to grind out a solid victory over Marshall when the teams last played back in January, winning 56-45. Does Gabrielino have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marshall turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
