The Livermore Cowboys will square off against the Rancho Cotate Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Livermore is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Alhambra by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Braden Ford made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Ryker Bortoli looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
Ford wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was AJ Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous six game, Rancho Cotate brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on Justin-Siena with a sharp 12-5 victory on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Stephen Scott was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. Jett Derammelaere was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Rancho Cotate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Rancho Cotate's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Livermore, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
Livermore beat Rancho Cotate 3-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2017. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
