The Willits Wolverines can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 43-21 margin over St. Helena. The win was just what Willits needed coming off of a 74-37 loss in their prior game.
Willits found their leader in underclassman Cecily Potter, who scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Hazel Cooke, who scored 12 points along with 4 blocks.
Willits has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 3-3 record. As for St. Helena, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Willits will face off against Anderson Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Helena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fortuna at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fortuna presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Helena in California (Fortuna is ranked 127th, while St. Helena is ranked 704th).
