For the first time this season, Del Norte will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Del Norte turned things around against Santana on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Sultans.
Tyler Bieri looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Richie Moore was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Cheshire, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Del Norte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Norsemen, sneaking past 3-1.
Shane Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, Mt. Carmel's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Coyle, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Mt. Carmel's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-7.
Del Norte skirted past Mt. Carmel 5-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Will the Nighthawks repeat their success, or do the Sundevils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
