Baseball Recap: Summerfield Waldorf Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summerfield Waldorf). They were the clear victors by a 19-6 margin over the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Luca C, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sacha F, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.

The win (which was Summerfield Waldorf's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Coming up, Summerfield Waldorf will be playing at home against San Francisco Waldorf at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they are taking a road trip to challenge Technology at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.6 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
