Warren is 0-10 against Lynwood since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Warren Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Lynwood Knights at 5:15 p.m. Warren is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Warren suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-22 loss at the hands of Downey. Warren was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
Meanwhile, Lynwood struggled with assists on Saturday (Bishop Gorman had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lynwood took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Gorman. While losing is never fun, Lynwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 70th in California, while Bishop Gorman is ranked first in Nevada).
Despite the defeat, Lynwood had strong showings from Taliyah Mcferson, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, and Kimiko Kennedy, who scored 14 points. Kennedy continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Skyy Simmons was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Warren has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Lynwood, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Warren was taken down by Lynwood 55-20 in their previous matchup on January 3rd. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Warren was down 31-8.
