Silex has gone 9-1 against Wellsville-Middletown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Owls are taking a road trip to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Silex is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Silex will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Monroe City on Monday. The Owls put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Owls have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Rylan Harris made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Austyn Van Horn was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kherrington Morris, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Silex kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Wellsville-Middletown lost 20-5 to Sturgeon on Monday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Silex has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Wellsville-Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Silex took their win against Wellsville-Middletown in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
