Basketball Game Preview: Grand Terrace Titans vs. Rowland Raiders

The Grand Terrace Titans and the Rowland Raiders will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Rowland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Grand Terrace, who comes in off a win.

Grand Terrace is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 66-23 victory over Orange Vista. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season.

Grand Terrace's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayleen Barajas, who went 7 of 16 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Barajas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Duran, who posted eight points along with 11 boards and seven steals.

Grand Terrace smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Rowland played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Ontario Christian 99-39. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-16.

Grand Terrace has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Rowland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Grand Terrace was dealt a bruising 61-31 loss at the hands of Rowland when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Grand Terrace avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
