Francis Parker is 8-2 against Bishop since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lancers will venture away from home to face off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Francis Parker will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Saturday, Francis Parker came up short against Kearny and fell 13-10.
Francis Parker got a massive performance out of Logan Manalong, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those runs were Manalong's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Spencer Perry, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Bishop's hadn't done well against Classical Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Caimans 8-6.
Clyde Kates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Kates wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Henry Armstrong, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Ian Browne was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bishop's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Classical Academy only managed six hits.
Bishop's record now sits at 13-8-1. As for Francis Parker, they dropped their record down to 6-13-1 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Francis Parker took their win against Bishop's in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
