Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deming). They blew past the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors 42-16 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Desert Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Julian Maynez and Hector Alvarez certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Maynez rushed for 103 yards on only 13 carries, while Alvarez rushed for 100 yards.

Deming's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Santa Teresa, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deming will host Lovington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Deming's defense better be ready for this one: Lovington has averaged an impressive 31.1 points per game this season. As for Santa Teresa, they will look to defend their home field on the 24th against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m.
