The Monessen Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Frazier Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Monessen has three straight wins, Frazier has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Monessen beat Bethlehem Center 37-27.
Monessen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Na'Jaziah Carter led the charge by scoring 11 points along with four steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Avanti Stitch, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Frazier lost to Bethlehem Center at home by a decisive 52-35 margin on Thursday.
Monessen's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Frazier, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Monessen against Frazier in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 52-19 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Frazier's Delaney Warnick, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Monessen to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
