The Fulshear Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Randle. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Fulshear came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Randle is ranked 417th).
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jada Morgan, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Ruke Ogbevire was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Randle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alaysia Cook , who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaziel King, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Fulshear's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Randle, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Fulshear will head out on the road to face off against Fort Bend Willowridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Willowridge is on a five-game streak of home wins, Fulshear a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Randle will take on Lamar Consolidated at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Lamar Consolidated has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
