Pottstown has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Pottstown Trojans and the Pottsgrove Falcons will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Pottstown suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 82-12 loss at the hands of Spring-Ford. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pottstown has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Pottsgrove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 59-33 loss at the hands of Boyertown. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pottsgrove has suffered against Boyertown since January 19, 2016.
Despite their defeat, Pottsgrove saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aleah Rockemore, who scored 15 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Rockemore hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Jessica Carroll was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Pottsgrove struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Boyertown posted 11 assists.
Pottstown's loss was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Pottsgrove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Pottstown was taken down by Pottsgrove 52-18 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Carroll, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals.
