The Santee Falcons can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They blew past Diego Rivera 66-44. Santee's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Diego Rivera lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brianna Collins, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Collins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Desiree Aguillon, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
The win (which was Santee's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Diego Rivera, they dropped their record down to 9-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santee will take on Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Los Angeles comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Diego Rivera, Diego Rivera and West Adams will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. West Adams' defense has only allowed 24.4 points per game this season, so Diego Rivera's offense will have their work cut out for them.
