In what's become a running theme this season, the Morse Tigers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 66-14 victory over Mar Vista at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-8.
Morse had a senior duo take command as Kyla Palpallatoc scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals and Jayla White dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Palpallatoc is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Deveney Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Mar Vista saw an underclassman step up: Allyson Bell scored eight points.
Morse has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which somehow isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. As for Mar Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Morse will head out on the road to face off against Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Academy of Our Lady of Peace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Morse is ranked 203rd). As for Mar Vista, they will be playing at home against Hilltop at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
