Jesuit and Vacaville are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Marauders will take on the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Jesuit is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Armijo 11-4. The victory was nothing new for the Marauders as they're now sitting on four straight.
Jesuit got a great performance from Teddy Rios as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Rios has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jesuit let Cade Colombara and Petey Palko run wild. Colombara went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Palko got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Colombara a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Walczykowski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Jesuit hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Vacaville can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Laguna Creek as they made off with a 12-2 win.
Jaiden Oldwin was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Oldwin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Olds, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Another player making a difference was Diego Corneliuz, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Jesuit's record now sits at 20-9. As for Vacaville, their record is now 17-12.
Jesuit came out on top in a nail-biter against Vacaville when the teams last played back in April of 2021, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
