Basketball Recap: Lily Milewski Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Conwell-Egan Catholic won the last time they faced St. Hubert Catholic for Girls and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles came out on top against St. Hubert Catholic for Girls by a score of 48-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Conwell-Egan Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Milewski, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Milewski is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 11 games she's played. Brianna Jackson was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

Conwell-Egan Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mia Ronan, who posted nine points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca D'Andrea, who had six points and nine rebounds.

Conwell-Egan Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for St. Hubert Catholic for Girls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conwell-Egan Catholic will welcome Nazareth Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Hubert Catholic for Girls, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal O'Hara at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
