Basketball Game Preview: Great Commission Bears vs. Clearfield Alliance Christian

The Great Commission Bears will head out to challenge Clearfield Alliance Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clearfield Alliance Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Great Commission, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Great Commission didn't have too much trouble with Walnut Street Christian as they won 49-31.

Great Commission's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexa Hall led the charge by going 7 of 17 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Hall has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Bordack, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Hall wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Great Commission was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Clearfield Alliance Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 45-17 defeat at the hands of Blair County Christian. Clearfield Alliance Christian was down 37-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Great Commission is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 41.5% in those games and 17.5% outside of them. As for Clearfield Alliance Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Great Commission was able to grind out a solid win over Clearfield Alliance Christian in their previous meeting back in January, winning 36-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Great Commission since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
