Tussey Mountain is 10-0 against Forbes Road since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Tussey Mountain Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against Forbes Road at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Tussey Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
On Thursday, Tussey Mountain came up short against Everett and fell 48-39.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Adyson Weyandt, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Weaver, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Forbes Road made easy work of Mount Union on Monday and carried off a 48-23 victory. Forbes Road pushed the score to 45-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Mount Union cut but never quite recovered from.
Forbes Road's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avrie Harr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Harr is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Katie Hess, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Tussey Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Forbes Road, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Tussey Mountain have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Forbes Road struggles in that department as they've been averaging 42.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Tussey Mountain against Forbes Road in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 60-22 victory. Will Tussey Mountain repeat their success, or does Forbes Road have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
