Softball Recap: Heritage Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Heritage, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let the Thomas Jefferson Spartans get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Macie Wilson made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wilson was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lyberty Bernal was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Edwards, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Thomas Jefferson, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Heritage will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mountain Vista at 3:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vista PEAK Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
