The Moreau Catholic Mariners had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Washington 77-39 on the road. The victory was just what Moreau Catholic needed coming off of a 64-44 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moreau Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madeline Bader, who scored 24 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that Bader posted eight or more assists. Elisa Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Jordyn Yamaguchi, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zariyah Hughes, who scored five points.
Moreau Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moreau Catholic will take on Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1038th, while Moreau Catholic is ranked 206th). As for Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against American at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
