Sedan kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Oxford Wildcats 48-0. If the Devils were looking for revenge after losing 46-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Sedan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut John Wade.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Xzavier McClamy and Logan Gaither. McClamy gained 111 total yards and three touchdowns while Gaither rushed for 79 yards and two TDs on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave McClamy a new career-high in rushing yards (81). Chase Douglas was another key player, rushing for 81 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.
